Omega New Seamaster Aqua Terra GMT Chronograph – Coming Soon
Omega is going to launch a new Seamaster Aqua Terra GMT Chronograph soon, in a few weeks or maybe a few months.
This new watch will be presented on stainless steel or 18k rose gold with a nice size at 44mm.The dial dresses gray, the trendy color for not a few brands this year and features deck-of-boat texturing- the so called “Teak Concept”dial with vertical lines pattern, very pleasing at least for my eyes. The dial has more to be discovered. Firstly, it is hand applied with 18k gold hands and hour markers on both steel and 18K rose gold version, upgrading the luxury level.Secondly, for the first time, Omega places the text inside the seconds subdial at 9 o’clock, which is a great try as it keeps the dial neat and nice with the focus on the Omega Seamaster GMT.Thirdly, the chronograph subdials are reasonable positioned and, more importantly, they are pretty well designed and offer optimal legibility.
However, things never go perfect. I believe many people will agree with Time to Tick that the red GMT hand looks a litter stubby though it seems that it does reach the hour marker itself. Besides, I do not like those hands on subdials which look a bit larger and identical with the minutes hand, which will sure bring inconvenience to time reading.( Though I have to admit that they look harmonious with the markers). The bezel looks nice and really stands out from the overall design. What I love is the edge design and meticulous treatment. But personally, I am not fond of the Arabic font used on the bezel which seems not conform to the luxury style of the watch.
The watch has sapphire crystal face with double anti-reflective coating as well as a display case back showing the Omega’s automatic Co-Axial escapement caliber 3603 movement with a column wheel chronograph, GMT complication and the date. The movement is unquestionable a certified one.The water resistance of the timepieces reaches 150 meters. Noticeable is that the rectangular chronograph pushers and the large watch crown. They look quite robust and I feel they are comfortable to use.
The new Seamaster Aqua Terra GMT Chronograph will be coupled with steel or rose gold bracelet. The alligator leather strap is also available for choosing.
