Tale of Two Watch Fairs–Surprisign Moments-Part1
Long time since SIHH and Baselworld were closed. Now life seems to slow down and finally I have time to write what I saw in two fairs. Time to Tick today will present those surprising moments firstly.
Each fair presents us surprises. It is not necessary that the most complex watch or the best-looking watch impress us most. Our eyes are always lighted up by those watches that reach high harmony of technology and aesthetics. The following are the best examples.
Breguet Classique Grande Complication 5347 Twin Rotating Tourbillons
This new Breguet Twin Rotating Tourbillons mesmerized all in the fair. It is a technical masterpiece as well as an outstanding work of art. Two Tourbillons linked by the differential gear operate separately, presenting a striking precision twice that of a standard watch. Inside the 44mm rose gold case, there houses over 570 spare parts. The case back receives impeccable finishing and is engraved with breathtaking patterns.
Hermes Pendulette Boule 2009 – Distinctive Ideas
Herma Pendulette Boule offers 360-degree view of time display. Skeleton hands glide overs the tracks with simple markings in smooth rhythm, presenting the elegant and deliberate image of time. You may wind the watch tby swirling two hemispheres. What a distinctive design.
Vacheron Constantin Lady Kalla Frame-Dancing Diamond
The Constantin Lady Kalla Frame easily reminds us of the iconic Lady Kalla. Adopting fire diamond cutting, the 200 faceted diamonds subtly absorb light and glow dazzling splendor. The complex fire diamond cutting is not only an aesthetic invention but also a technology breakthrough. Meanwhile, it is the first diamond cutting craft approved by the Gemological Institute Of America in two decades. The bracelet naturally blends into the case. The diamonds on the seem to dance cheerfully. The natural yet voluptuous design makes me forget the time.
Harry Winston Opus 9
To Harry Winston Opus 9, diamonds are time-teller rather than only decorative elements. Two parallel diamond lines replace tradition hour hand and minute hand. The red garnet display the hour and minute in the corresponding precision. Through the sapphire crystal case back. We can see the chain mechanism and the chains work together to mark the passing of time, of course, in a poetic manner. Opus 9 reinterprets traditional watch-making technology and present a brand-new method of time-reading.
Voila Superstar chronograph
Voila is France watch brand that focuses on design. It presents breath-taking works from time to time. This Superstar chronograph is not an exception. It features hexagon-flower-shape case rather than tradition round, rectangle, square or tonneau case. The dial shows only even Arabic numbers to suit six flower petals. Pusher buttons are located under the petals at 2 and 4 o’clock position.
CITIZEN Eco-Drive VITRO-Eco-Drive Era
Eco-Drive is the key technology of Citizen. It becomes more and more popular with its convenience, humanized function, fashion design and enviroment-friendly design. The Eco-Drive VITRO adopts glass to absorb lights. The transparent battery covered on the glass is invisible, providing larger space for dial design. The floating dial features strong sense of space and transparent feel.
